Slee Blackwell’s personal injury law team was nominated for the Claimant Team of the Year at the prestigious Personal Injury Awards. Lawyer Jasmine Butler reports.
The awards ceremony was glitzy affair, held at the Hilton’s Cloud 23, the highest point in Manchester. With English actor, writer and semi-professional footballer Ralph Little holding court (pun intended), the Personal Injury Awards 2019 featured three nominations for Slee Blackwell.
According to the organisers of the event, “the objective of the awards is to identify high standards of practice and to inspire others to emulate the achievements demonstrated by those who have been shortlisted.”
The personal injury team at Slee Blackwell were shortlisted for “Claimant Team of the Year”. The nomination came as a result of all the hard work from every member of the team in securing the very best outcome for each of our clients.
Not only were the whole team up for an award but the firm’s leading clinical negligence lawyer, Oliver Thorne, was nominated for “Clinical Negligence Lawyer of the Year”. Then the hattrick of nominations, our Elizabeth Duncan was up for “Claimant Lawyer of the Year” for her tremendous work in the specialised field of historic abuse cases and sexual assaults.
The award ceremony was a chance for our hard working personal injury team to get together with collegues from other leading practices from across the UK to celebrate the achievements of the past year.
To top it all off I got to meet Anthony from The Royle Family! In the words of Sue Johnston “Get the door, will ya, Anthony?”
On a more serious note, the awards perform an important role in prolmoting the very highest standards in an industry that strives to give those who are injured through no fault of their own a voice, access to treatment and the ability to move on with their lives with as little difficulty is possible.
